The garage is now rather full after a 300 mile round trip van drive (including a return Solent ferry crossing, and 125 miles of M25) to MK Sportscars to collect my 25th Anniversary Special Edition RX-5 build.
I have to say that the quality and attention to detail in the manufacture of the chassis, body panels (in Gulf Blue) is first class, as it is with all of the other parts which go towards putting an RX-5 through IVA and on the road. It’s down to me now to make sure the donor parts don’t ‘let the side down’.
The hard work starts now!
And…
Body shell collected today 🥳
It was well worth cutting it into smaller chunks as the scrap metal collector only had a standard transit van.
Now there’s plenty of room in the garage to get the chassis up onto build trestles.
Three weeks later!
After a little hiatus (new en suite project on the go at the same time) managed to find a little time today to get the chassis up on to build trestles. Trestles came from Toolstation – £60 the pair and 500kg load bearing per trestle. Might be a little high but we’ll see (might make an adjustment with the recipro-saw….).
