A really delayed update to the build follows. Delays were mainly due to other calls on my time but also due to a lack of motivation on my part to get the wiring done, knowing that it would be time consuming and challenging. The weather has also turned a little colder too!
Basically time available to work on the car has been spent on building up the new fuse box whilst rationalising the old Mazda loom, carefully modifying & re-wrapping it and fitting it into its final location in the car. Not quite making it up as I go along, there is a plan, however the plan is flexible and dynamically changing as I get more confident.
One thing that has helped to get the job done is using these crimp cable joints and glued heat-shrink tubing. Much quicker than soldering each joint, and more flexible too when recreating Mazda style multi-joins in the loom. And the game changer is this battery heat gun to… erm… shrink the heat-shrink!
